Instrumentals
An Interlude
A current experiment with an R&B feel, minimal instrumentation. Featuring an audio sample from the film "Vanilla Sky".
Bleed
An instrumental I've been meaning to add vocals to. Dense instrumental layering and use of piano influenced by Something Corporate.
Six Thirty
An instrumental track influenced by Linkin Park and good ol' 80's harmonized guitar leads.
The Last Dance
Probably my favourite instrumental. Again, been meaning to add vocals. This track was influenced by the production and arrangement found in Jimmy Eat World songs. Very proud of this track. Very emotionally charged.
Cover Songs
Believe In What You Want
another Jimmy Eat World cover, from the Clarity LP
Believe In What You Want (mastered)
Hear You Me
a cover of Jimmy Eat World's "Hear You Me" from the Bleed American LP
Lucky Denver Mint
my first Jimmy Eat World cover. I used to perform this often at coffeehouses/open acoustic stages. This is from their Clarity LP
Nobody's Home
a guilty pleasure covered. dunno why, i just think this is a solid song, regardless of the artist. anyway, from the Under My Skin LP, by Avril Lavigne
Demos, Works in Progress, Experiments
Coming Home (Requiem for the Hero)
Hold On To Me (rough vocals)
Hold On To Me / The Calm Before The Storm
Silence Stains the Air
-a sampler - A song from a set of experiments in the emocore-hardcore genre. Influenced by Thrice, Funeral for a Friend, Alexisonfire....and a subtle hint of Weezer's Pinkerton LP.
Take Your Time (demo)
Here is an attempt at a polished up version of this song. Still rough in some places, but it gets the idea across better than the live track. One of the few political songs I wrote during the summer--this one being a response to Bush's Iraq War.
Mastered Tracks
Don't Depend On Me
one of the first songs i wrote back in high school. washed in multiple layers of guitar tracks. my attempt at a radio single, pop punk song
In Reverie
This is a song I wrote for a friend's bday. I wanted to write a track that featured piano as the main instrument, while adding other instruments to create a rich sonic atmosphere. Influenced by Jimmy Eat World's "My Sundown" and "Hear You Me"
Knowing You
Another song back in my high school days. At the time i was influenced with a lot of mid 90's alt-rock, specifically Silverchair.
Midsummer Night Waltz
My very first song written in the 3/4 time signature. This song was written during a time where I was heavily influenced by Something Corporate.
Siren (featuring Darcy Davie)
My first online collaboration. Featuring fellow PureVolume songwriter, Darcy Davie, the addition of her vocals elevated this stripped down acoustic instrumental to a full fledged, emotionally powerful song.
The Sweethereafter
Probably my most widely accepted, and catchiest song that I've uploaded onto the Internet. Its received some great reviews and reactions on the PureVolume boards.
